Debug quotes and test pricing calculations
The Tools tab provides utilities for testing and debugging your pricing configuration.
Price Calculator
The price calculator lets you simulate a booking quote without creating an actual booking. Enter:
- Vehicle — Select a vehicle from your fleet
- Pickup Date — Start date of the rental
- Dropoff Date — End date of the rental
- Pickup Location — Where the customer picks up
- Dropoff Location — Where the customer drops off
- Coupon Code — Optional discount code
The calculator shows the full price breakdown:
- Base daily rate and which price rule matched
- Number of rental days
- Modifiers applied (location fees, age surcharges, weekend rates)
- Coupon discount (if any)
- Tax amount
- Total price
This is useful for:
- Verifying your pricing setup is correct
- Understanding why a specific price was calculated
- Testing coupons and special offers
- Debugging unexpected pricing behavior
Debug Quotes
The debug view shows the complete pricing engine evaluation chain, including which rules were considered and why each was accepted or rejected. This is the technical view — use it when the calculator result doesn't match your expectations.
